Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) is a non-movement practice. Research has shown that Yoga Nidra can be helpful in treating insomnia, fatigue, pain, lowering blood pressure and minimizing stress. Yoga Nidra is designed to bring your body and mind into a deep state of peace and calm. One hour of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to three hours of sleep.
In this class, Summer's voice will guide you through a series of relaxation and visualization exercises. Absolutely no prior experience with yoga or meditation is necessary. We will start with some very gentle movements to free the joints and calm the body. But because Yoga Nidra is a non-movement practice, this class is appropriate for people of all ages, abilities and fitness levels; anyone looking to calm the body and mind and achieve a state of deep relaxation and peace.
